Summer is here and it is time to enjoy the weather and also build name recognition for Corbit for Prothonotary. We plan to walk the parade route and hand out stickers, Corbit pens, etc along with candy for the kids. We will meet at Wyomissing Boulevard and Cleveland Avenue in Wyomissing at 9:30. If you have a Corbit t-Shirt, please wear it. (We have some XLs left) Thanks so much for your help and support!

Pick up already prepared meals @ Hugh Carcella Apts. @ 505 Nth 10th Street Reading (I’m told that it’s better to park on Mulberry Street.) Deliver meals in containers to homes in the Northeast section of Reading. Bring back empty containers from the previous day. At the end of the route take all empty containers back to the Hugh Carcella Apts. Each shift will consist of 1 driver and 1 -2 “runners”. Please contact Bernice if you are interested in volunteering.

Healthcare policy is one of the foremost issues of our time, but also one of the most confusing and contentious. President Obama has called for a plan that reduces costs, guarantees choice, and provides quality care for all. Healthcare legislation could be passed this summer that is as significant as social security was in 1935, in the depths of the Great Depression. This important public forum is designed to help us understand the issues from a variety of perspectives. Speakers include a physician and health policy expert, a business owner, and a union representative. Presentations will be followed by a Q&A session with the audience, as well as recommendations for further action.
